PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — As a centennial celebration, the United Way of West Florida — an organization that “fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties” — is hosting a fundraising event and watching the Kentucky Derby.

The fundraising event, Glitz & Gallop Gala is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Pensacola State Community College, according to a release.

Event-goers will be able to attend the event, watch the 150th Kentucky Derby, bet on the race, eat heavy hors d’oeuvres and enjoy live music from the String Farm Band by purchasing tickets. Prizes will also be awarded at the event for categories such as best-in-show fashion show and the winner’s circle racehorse.

Tickets are listed as $100 per person and include two drink tickets and 10 betting tickets to be used at the Parade of Prizes table and to bet on horse races, the release said.
